The July Meeting will be held at the Wonderland Road South Library on Wed. July 13, 7:00 pm. We will be discussing a possible 2012 Show. The demo will be a Power-Point on the beaches and museums of Normandy – where to stay and what to see there.

New folks, or those just curious are welcome.

Sorry, but there was a problem with the new Explorer 9. Anyhow – we had a great meeting, with 3 old members coming back and taking out new Memberships – welcome back to Nick, Don and Tom – great to see you folks back!!!

The 2012 Show was discussed, but tabled until next meeting as no-one leapt at the chance to be the Show Chair.

Doug B. led a wonderful demo on ship-based photo-etch, ably assisted by Tom D. Who knew that you should harden very small photo-etch by brief immersion in vinegar??  The 3mm pieces of photo=etch that had to be bent 4-6 ways to make an AA platform really astounded me.  Well done, Doug and Tom.

See you next month where I will give a power-point on the Normandy Beaches and Museums.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, June 8 at 7:00 pm at the Westmount Library on Wonderland Road South.

Tom and Doug will be doing a combo lecture on ship-based photo-etch and water effects. Should be a good one.

We had a great meeting – with many members and visitors out. New Member Eric joined us – welcome. We had an eclectic assortment of kits at the show-and-tell table – from sci-fi to cars.

Duncan led an interesting demo on how to photograph your kit, and gave some personal tips to folks who brought their cameras. Thank you to Duncan for a great lecture.

Next month Tom and Doug will be doing a demo on small scale ship photo-etch and water.
